Orjan Nilsen – Iconic

Norwegian star Orjan Nilsen continues riding the wave of success in 2016. His highly anticipated “Iconic” is getting an early release by popular demand from the fans, being the highlight of his and Armin van Buuren’s set’s for the past few months. Already tested out at events such as Atlantis, Armada Festival, Electronic Family & his massive Tomorrowland set, the track does prove to be one of the greatest melodies created this year.

His collaboration with Colombian prodigy KhoMha, “Los Capos”, conquered the Top 100 Trance Chart for nearly three months, whilst MaRLo’s rework of Nilsen’s biggest classic “Between The Rays” still shows a steady presence in the top 20 more than 35 days past release.

“Iconic” is the first single from Orjan’s forthcoming album, which is due to be released by the first quarter of 2017. Information on the third album is still fairly limited, but some ID’s can already be heard during his live sets across the globe. Despite an accident, resulting in him breaking his hand, Nilsen has ensured the album is a number one priority in a recent interview:

“I’m busy at work with a new album, got a lot of stuff to show, it was all delayed by the broken hand incident, but barring any more setbacks, it should be done soon!”

Considered the Trance Viking, Orjan Nilsen is quite known for being an absolute master of melodies and “Iconic” is yet another proof of that. Premiered on Armin’s ‘A State of Trance 2016’ compilation, the track kicks in with powerful kicks and catchy claps, slowly building in into the first break, which presents us the pure beauty of the main melody, gently accompanied by beautiful plucks and bells. It is not long until we come to the first drop, where the listener can experience the full power of the track, ensuring that this one will be a dance floor favorite. The melody, the uplifting vibe and the euphoria represent a full package of beauty delivered to the listener in just under 6 minutes.

The set of successful releases in the past months, as well as newly announced collaboration with Armin van Buuren, sure puts the Norwegian star in the spotlight yet again.
