deadmau5 gifts fans his own remix of seminal tune “Strobe”
After the recent mau5trap 100 release which contained a number of incredible remixes of the deadmau5 classic “Strobe“, many fans were left wondering what had happened to the mau5’s own remix of the track. Surfacing online a number of months ago, it was even used to close out his set in the ASOT tent during Ultra Music Festival Miami earlier this year. Luckily though deadmau5 himself has decided to give away the track for free to his fans after many begged him to formally release it.
Entitled “ebortS” (which is Strobe backwards in case you didn’t realise), the track is virtually completely different from the progressive original. Going down a more trap/hip-hop inspired route which retains sections of the melody from the original, the mau5 has taken to completely flip it on its head in what many will see as a somewhat different take on the dance classic. Of course long serving fans will know that this isn’t the first time deadmau5 has explored this type of sound. A similar style can be seen in the track “Failbait” from 2012, which featured Cypress Hill on vocals and also from his unreleased track “The Carp Is Mine” which featured none other than Jay Z on vocals.
