Fatboy Slim drops nostlagic Beats 1 mix

Fatboy Slim holds a rightful place an icon and legend within the dance music. Having been at the forefront of Ibiza’s expansive growth and popularity over the decades, penning numerous chart hits and carrying an infectious character, it hard to imagine something hasn’t done.

However, only yesterday, did he perform his first ever radio show. And what a suitable podium to do it on, as in Apple Music’s Beats 1 mix. Now reputed for the artists it can attract and their consequential sets, each mix is anticipated. However Fatboy Slim’s brought with it an air of excitement rarely seen.

Effectively handing over the reigns to Fatboy Slim, the shows host, Zane Lowe, managed to bring together something rather special, that numerous fans of the scene have sought after for years. Going into the mix with just an introductory and concluding track, the mastery of Fatboy Slim’s skill set was paramount to the organic flare of the mix.

Carrying out his pursuit of creating a musical journey in elegant style, the esteemed British DJ laid out a nearly two-hour mix that was truly radio, rather than being adaptable to a dance floor as well.

Opening with “Praise You”, he goes onto to delve into funky vibes, sun-kissed atmosphere’s and nostalgic kicks. Featuring the likes of Claude VonStroke, Groove Armada, Lucky Charmes and even Oasis, the mix is something rather special to help keep the spirit of house music alive evermore.
