Listen: Avicii receives a tribute mix from SLAM! Mix Marathon
As a majority of the dance music community already knows, one of this era’s biggest game-changers retired from his touring career. Avicii, who is prominent for his numerous chart-topping hits such as “Levels” and “Wake Me Up”, recently concluded his time as a performer at Ushuaïa Ibiza. Despite ending this side of his career, the Swedish legend will still continue creating music and stun the world with his always astonishing style of production.
To celebrate his undoubtedly illustrious career, SLAM! Mix Marathon just unveiled a tribute mix dedicated to one of the industry’s most successful artists. The 52-minute set consists of some of Avicii’s greatest tracks from “Fade Into Darkness” to “Hey Brother”. A couple of his older records were also played, including his other alias Tim Berg’s “Bromance” and his edit of Tom Hangs’ “Blessed”.
His remixes for the likes of Nadia Ali, Bob Sinclar, MORTEN, and MYNC are also featured in this must-hear mix as well as his major collaboration with Nicky Romero titled “I Could Be the One”. To finish this set off with a bang, Headhunterz and Carnage’s remix of Avicii’s “Waiting For Love” is played, which perfectly wraps up this wonderful tribute to the multi-platinum recording producer.
