The biggest festival in the world – Tomorrowland, has been granted permission to host the event in 2 weekends next year. Following the approval from the local government of Boom & Rumst, fans worldwide are to celebrate a double chance of earning their spot at this legendary experience in 2017. Following the success of this approach back in 2014 for the tenth anniversary of Tomorrowland, this might as well be a permanent solution for future editions, as getting a ticket becomes an even more challenging endeavor as the festival grows.

The 2017 installment of the Belgium event will be hosted from July 21st to July 23rd, as well as the following weekend from 28th to 30th. The purpose of this expansion is to expand the ticket capacity, allowing twice the number of people to enjoy the festival in its entirety.

The news received official confirmation from Tomorrowland representatives:

“The purpose of this [hosting the festival in 2 weekends] is to meet the huge demand for tickets from international and local fans. Meanwhile, with the blessing of the municipalities of Boom & Rumst, we can go ahead and start preparing for 2 weekends as of next summer.”

During the week between both weekends, visitors will be able to walk around the festival grounds to feel the unique atmosphere of the festival.

The decision from a government side is not an easy one, as the province of De Schorre has very strict regulation for outdoor events, which should not go over 17 days per year. With Tomorrowland taking 6 of those, this will lead to a significant redistribution among other organization.

“180,000 happy faces from all over the world enjoyed three days of music, sun and Belgian hospitality.”, says the Tomorrowland team, while preparing for a double-trouble in 2017.
