RL Grime, What So Not, Skrillex – Waiting
After What So Not’s confirmation this past September, fans both international and stateside have come together to hail the release of “Waiting”. Accompanied by bass lords RL Grime and Skrillex, “Waiting” is a heavy hitter with zero relaxation time. First heard as an ID during RL Grime’s 2015 HARD Summer set, each artists unique production techniques are highlighted perfectly, making for a sure hit this upcoming festival season.
As today’s bass music culture evolves, so does its sound. It is, if not, one of the most listened to genres on the scene to date and continuously welcomes new, innovative sounds on the regular. As “Waiting” is sure to make headlines in the coming months for its unique sense of synth work and beat placements, it’s branding should as well. Already backed by a cheesy 80’s teaser, the song has gained marketing attention by the thousands based solely on the fact its backed by three of the most famous taste makers in the game.
Heard for the first time on RL Grime’s 5th Halloween Mix edition, “Waiting” is a choppy tune tuned in on elevated sounds and a start to finish hypnotic back beat. The song is as haunting as it is clean, and shows zero faults on production execution. It is, above all, a well done track from three EDM masterminds. Take a listen to “Waiting” below and let us know what you think.
