Celebrate Armin van Buuren’s birthday with Episode 001 of A State Of Trance
What better way to celebrate Christmas for Trance fans to rewind to the golden times when Trance was the be all and end all of Electronic Music. The times when the likes of Paul Van Dyk, Sasha, Armin van Buuren, Tiesto, Benno de Goeij, Vincent de Moor, among others, ruled Radio stations world over. Considering it’s Christmas time for all, Trance fans will remember that it is also Armin van Buuren‘s birthday too. And to celebrate the legendary record producer and globally renowned DJ’s birthday we’re taking you back in time to March 2001 when the first episode of his now iconic A State of Trance (ASOT) radio show was aired on ID&T Radio, which is a predecessor to the current setup of SLAM!FM.
Kicking things off for the first ASOT episode, Armin starts with the mesmerizing Oliver Lieb remix of Warrior’s 2001 single ‘Voodoo’. More remixes from Planisphere, Marco V, Fire & Ice, TDR follow suit before Armin plays the Inhale remix of his 2001 collaboration ‘Exhale’ with Ferry Corsten’s System F moniker. Up next are tracks from the likes of Blank & Jones, Darkstar, Orion, Ralphie B, Rank 1 and S.o.l.i.s. while Armin’s track ‘Clear Blue Moon’ produced under his Rising Star alias makes an appearance too. Bringing the iconic first episode to an end is Armin’s early release from 1997 titled ‘Blue Fear‘. It would be safe to say that Epsiode 001 of ASOT has become a collector’s item for fans across the spectrum of electronic music and it is surely a perfect way to celebrate Armin’s birthday.
