Tens of thousands of people gather annually at Nevada’s Black Rock Desert for one of the world’s biggest destinations. Known as Burning Man, this massive festival has become internationally notorious for providing its attendees with memorable experiences with music, art work, and fashion. In addition, Burning Man’s organizers have come up with a theme for the event each year.

In the past, the yearly gathering has implemented themes such as “Cargo Cult”, “Caravansary”, and “Carnival of Mirrors”. Last year, Burning Man used the theme “DaVinci’s Workshop” and recently, the organizers have announced what 2017 has in stored, with the theme of “Radical Ritual”. Not much information about what the plans are for next year but according to a post on the Burning Man Journal:

In 2017, we will invite participants to create interactive rites, ritual processions, elaborate images, shrines, icons, temples, and visions. Our theme will occupy the ambiguous ground that lies between reverence and ridicule, faith and belief, the absurd and the stunningly sublime. The human urge to make events, objects, actions, and personalities sacred is protean. It can fix on and inhabit anyone or anything. This year our art theme will release this spirit in the Black Rock Desert.

Considering the ever-growing success Burning Man has been achieving since its establishment at San Francisco’s Baker Beach, it should not come as a surprise if the attendees of the 2017 festival receive a once-in-a-lifetime experience. For more information about “Radical Ritual”, visit here.
