Calvin Harris’s “Summer” reaches 1 billion views on Youtube
Throughout his illustrious career, Calvin Harris has produced numerous hits whether it is under the umbrella of pop or electronic dance music. Since his early beginnings, the Scottish producer has scored multiple platinum certifications for tracks such as “Feel So Close” and “How Deep is Your Love” and even a couple of Grammy nominations listed under his portfolio.
2016 was yet another successful year for Harris after the release of his second collaboration with prominent artist Rihanna. These two superstars teamed up to produce “This is What You Came For”, which has become a platinum record and has topped several music charts around the world. In addition, the track’s music video has accumulated over one billion views on Youtube in just a span of six months.
Recently, another one of Harris’s hits reached this goal, which turned out to be his 2014 hit titled “Summer”. During the 2015 Brit Awards, the song’s music video was able to receive a nomination for British Artist Video of the Year, with the track itself also being nominated for British Single of the Year. Being one of the biggest tracks on the radio, online, and throughout the entire dance music community two years ago, it is no surprise that “Summer” was able to pass the one-billion mark for Youtube views.
