Oliver Heldens is now a beloved part of the electronic dance music scene. However, today marks a rather nostalgic point in time, and poignant reminder of just how far he has come.

Bursting onto the scene with his melodic Future House instrumental track “Gecko” three years ago today, it has gone on to serve as a massive first step to a celebrated career already.  Now with his own label and busy touring schedule, Oliver Heldens has come a long way since his first release.

Dropping the track through Tiesto‘s Musical Freedom and Spinnin’ Records, the hit-track now has over 23 million plays online alone for the original instrumental version. Going to converted into a vocal version, titled “Gecko (Overdrive)“, that track now sits on over 40 million plays between its Official Music Video on YouTube and on SoundCloud. Teaming up with British singer Becky Hill, Oliver Heldens catapulted himself into the mainstream limelight, gaining recognition from charts and industry heavyweights.

Showcasing his distinctive Future House sound, when it first released, “Gecko” acted as a hint at what was to come in the near future for Oliver Heldens and the genre as a whole. Going on to Chart in France, Belgium and The Netherlands, it certainly bring back great memories.
