Making headlines for the right reasons of late, Deadmau5 continues to prove his value to the electronic dance music industry. While recently receiving heat for his techy set while opening for Marshmello, the most part, his work always stirs a positive response. With his recent residency at BBC Radio 1 no exception to that rule.

The spearhead to the BBC’s response to the success of Apple‘s Beats One mixes, the media outlet announced a new cohort of acts to draw attention and respect to the iconic podcast. Aiming to bring in “the biggest names in dance music from the underground to the arena,” the other acts to follow Deadmau5 are set to be Metrik, Eats Everything, Jessy Lanza, Helena Hauff, Kölsch, Logan Sama, and Will Atkinson.

Opening with his track “Imaginary Friends“, Deadmau5 then proceeds to formulate a mix with the likes of Maceo Plex and ANNA sitting side by side. Including fellow Progressive House elite, Pryda, and his track “The End Is Just The Beginning” the residency also sheds light on lesser-known acts such as Pig&Dan and Pan-Pot.

Pulling in the studio work from reputed artists like Lane 8, Deadmau5 holds two special tracks for the back end of the intricate podcast. Employing Com Truise‘s remix of his iconic “Strobe” track, the Canadian talent then polishes of the compilation of atmosphere’s with Jon Hopkins‘ “Lost In Thought” – in true Deadmau5 style.
