For the 2017 Festival Weekend edition of Shade 45’s G-Unit Saturdays, the show’s host DJ Whoo Kid invited some of electronic music’s most prominent names. World-renowned artists Diplo, Skrillex, and Steve Aoki are all set to guest mix for the six-hour show, which is set to air on SiriusXM on January 7th from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The vast growth in popularity of electronic music across the globe is no longer a surprise. Along with its continuous expansion, various other genres have begun meshing together with electronic music. Most notably, hip-hop has coincided with numerous sub-genres of electronic music, and this merge is likely to be heavily spotlighted during this week’s G-Unit Saturdays.
One of the show’s announced guests is Diplo, who is no stranger in the world of hip-hop and trap as the head honcho of the Mad Decent record label. Skrillex has also become renowned within the hip-hop world especially after collaborating with some of the industry’s biggest superstars such as Rick Ross and Pusha T. Similarly, Steve Aoki has joined forces with the likes of Waka Flocka Flame and Kid Cudi in the past.
