Premiere: Last95 – Faceless

Serbia’s capital of Belgrade has often been billed as the clubbing hub of Eastern Europe by various respected tastemakers such as Lonely Planet. The river-embraced hidden gem is famous for fusing a wide variety of genres from the entire spectrum of music and its clubbing culture is a distinct mosaic of small scenes. Therefore it comes as no surprise that a city of such diversity would harbor and nurture some diamonds in the form of musical talents.

One of those is Belgrade’s promising young DJ/Producer Danijel Cehranov. Having been exposed to a wide variety of musical styles in Belgrade, mostly concentrated around techno, house, progressive and all of their mixtures, his style of playing and producing possesses the same blend of diversity as Serbia’s capital itself. Through the years he’s played at iconic events such as Serbia’s renowned EXIT Festival, Raveolution and Love Fest. Cehranov was selected to play alongside distinct names in the industry such Adriatique, Karmon, Tube & Berger and Blond:ish.

Growing up at the edge of the city, his strongest connection to the city center and its clubs that have played a part in shaping his music taste and skills for the past 10 years, was the last night ride on the bus line number 95; hence his pseudonym and project name Last95. The project is accompanied by the opening of his own label Last95 Records, with a mission to promote both his music and the art/lifestyle concept that he stands for.

We Rave You is proud to premiere Last95’s debut track ‘Faceless‘ off his upcoming EP of the same name. A masterful production consisting of dark, brooding beats layered effortlessly between a metronomic baseline and a subtle yet highly powerful crescendo, ‘Faceless’ manages to encapsulate the crossover between Techno, and several key almost-Detroitian house elements, perfectly. A sweeping groove is at the heart of the track’s build-up, and instantly possesses all the ingredients of a real floor filler that would look firmly at home in Space Ibiza’s main room. The track’s cymbal-clapped kick will ensure feet are left tapping constantly. Throw in an ever-growing momentum wavered delicately between the bassline as the production borders closer to its euphoria-inducing key change, and it’s clear ‘Faceless’ has all the ingredients of already building a legacy as a true underground classic.
