Premiere: Shapov feat. Rookies – More Than Love
Already a huge rising star within the dance music world, Russian star Shapov has been busy as of late with a string of heavily supported releases including his huge single ‘Belong‘ with Axtone mentor himself, Axwell, which received over 11 million streams on Spotify.
His work has been supported by esteemed taste-makers including Sebastian Ingrosso, Diplo, Tiësto and Alesso. Tirelessly touring the world last year, Shapov’s key gigs include Tomorrowland, Ushuaïa Ibiza and Miami Music Week and has a tour across Asia and Australia already scheduled for this year.
Now, the Axtone golden boy follows up his Axwell collaboration with a 4 track EP, titled ‘Four Corners’. Showcasing both his talent and his taste for bold electronic music, the EP will be released via Axwell’s Axtone Records on the 10th February.
Spearheading the EP is ‘More Than Love’ which sees Shapov strip things back for yet another anthemic track, highlighting the talent of UK duo Rookies, and it’s a partnership the Russian declared himself pleased with, commenting:
“I’d been working on these different songs and it was actually Axwell who suggested I release them as an EP which I thought was a great idea! It’s great to be able to show some different styles and I’m very happy with the results. ‘More Than Love’ features a sick new act from the UK – Rookies. ‘More Than Love’ is the most chilled track on the EP but the voice and song are incredible. I’m currently working on a version for the clubs!”
Adding to ‘More Than Love’ on the EP is ‘Breathing Deeper’ – a euphoric ballad produced in collaboration with MEG | NERAK. The emotionally charged vocal track has been gathering online hype since its debut during Miami Music Week in 2016. Guitar-led ‘Some People’ and ‘Analogue Soul’ round off the EP; combining intensely charged synths throughout the intro and a signature Shapov drop that’s full of bounce and energy, completing the four very different corners of this release.
