Above & Beyond – 1001

Ethereal, cosmic, music from beyond this world are some of the sentiments attached to the output generated by the legendary Above & Beyond trio. Besides having been behind such music, they also court artists that share their vision and dedication to that specific Anjunabeats sound that gives goosebumps to listeners world over. With 2016 being a stellar success for the artists group and the label alike, Above & Beyond now look set to be back on the charts for what looks like a promising year for progressive House & Trance music. While 2016 saw the release of their Acoustic II album and a remix for fellow music legend Moby’s ‘Porcelain,’ the trio are now looking to set 2017 ablaze – first with the release of the Anjunabeats Vol. 13 and now with a single titled ‘1001’.

‘1001’ features the Above & Beyond trio back to their best as they showcase muffled beat-work that kicks off the track. The listeners is greeted by the euphoric setting of the track which creates the perfect listening environment. The track is then taken over by the mesmerizing break, which sets the tone with its mellifluous synth-work. As is with all Above & Beyond tracks, the best was yet to come as the progression hits the listener with its well chalked out square beats and uplifting melody. A sure-shot dosage to get the crowd going, it’s not unusual to see this track being one of the highlights of Above & Beyond’s current European tour. All in all, ‘1001’ is timely release in the first-third of the year to set the tone for what’s in store at the Anjunabeats camp.
