Swedish dance giants Axwell Λ Ingrosso have continued their huge week in style, having been confirmed for a very special one-off performance at the Friends Arena in their home town of Stockholm during the opening ceremony of the UEFA Europa League final on 24 May. Coming fresh from a few days that have seen the duo announced to headline the mainstage of this year’s Ultra Music Festival in Miami, play two New York shows at Terminal 5, and reveal a stellar line-up of support acts for their London Steel Yard event, it seems there is no stopping this pair right now.

The duo – consisting of legendary DJ/producers Sebastian Ingrosso and Axwell – previously performed to a sell-out crowd at the Friends Arena in 2012, as members of Swedish House Mafia. And have promised to put on yet another signature show for the global sporting spectacular of the UEFA Europa League final. Of the much-anticipated booking, Axwell Λ Ingrosso said:

“It’s an honour to return to the Friends Arena in our home town of Stockholm for this huge sporting event.”

The pioneering pair were also, of course, founding members of the seminal Swedish House Mafia – who have sold more than one million tickets worldwide and over 11 million singles. Manager of both Swedish House Mafia, and Axwell Λ Ingrosso, Amy Thomson, last night revealed to a fan on social media that this wasn’t the last announcement to come from the pair, with another mystery event in London currently in the pipeline too, set to be announced on Monday.
