Drake samples Black Coffee’s “Superman” in new album ‘More Life’

Home Uncategorized Drake samples Black Coffee’s “Superman” in new album ‘More Life’

The cross between hip hop and dance music has always been an interesting one, with many viewing it as either hit or miss. But it seems that anything Drake touches lately turns to gold, and on his record-breaking ‘More Life’ playlist, he takes esteemed producer Black Coffee’sSuperman‘ and turns it into a soulful, tribal hit entitled ‘Get It Together‘.

Rather than featuring the original vocals from Bucie, the Canadian rapper opts for an impressive cover from rising UK singer Jorja Smith. Black Coffee’s original was released over 7 years ago, and Drake’s re-vamp is guaranteed to give this classic the exposure it deserves. It is yet another positive move for the producer, who also recently announced his summer residency in Ibiza’s latest superclub, Hï Ibiza.

We look forward to seeing who else might attempt to cross the genres between R&B and dance music in the future, and if the results are similar to ‘Get It Together‘, we may be in for a treat.
