Ferry Corsten reveals new Sci-fi concept album and unveils tour dates
Dutch electronic music producer Ferry Corsten is an artist who is never afraid to innovate, and his latest announcement is no different. Completing his fifth and, by his own admission, most ambitious artist album to date, the trance DJ has revealed how latest release, ‘Blueprint’ is an LP that is stimulated by an idea to unite the music with a storyline that stretches beyond a lyrical theme.
Ferry wanted to explore his appreciation for the art of screenwriting and film scores and has drafted in acclaimed screenwriter David H Miller (of House Of Cards fame), to help with storyboarding a narrative to accompany the conceptual direction of the album. What results for the end listener is a body of work that is polished, synthesized and intellectual in its conclusion.
The album is certainly a unique output for one of the biggest names in the electronic scene, but Ferry’s attempts to change the game have always been apparent and ‘Blueprint’ is truly an exploratory journey that the iconic producer is finally excited to be sharing with his fans. So much so, that the trance legend has chosen to gift the first single and title track ‘Blueprint’ on his official SoundCloud as an offering to give any eager ears a taste of what is to come.
Already supported by some of the biggest names in the galaxy that includes household names such as Armin van Buuren, Markus Schulz and Above & Beyond, ‘Blueprint’ is set to be one of the biggest hits of the year so far. And to celebrate this bold new work, Ferry Corsten has confirmed the announcement of nine live shows spread across Asia, Europe and North America. The official Blueprint Album Tour will touch down at Myst in Shanghai, SW4 in London, Exchange in Los Angeles, in New York with more to be announced.
