When it’s your job to make dance music for a living, a much needed break from heavy bass lines and pounding kicks can be a breath of fresh air. After all, music producers are, first and foremost, music lovers. iHeart Radio recently caught up with Martin Garrix to find out what he listens to when he’s not performing or in the studio, and although he may be renowned for his big room and progressive house anthems, he musical tastes are anything but predictable.
The Dutch superstar is asked to give 10 tracks that his fans should listen to, and although he only gives 7, he states that he pays no attention to genres, and will listen to anything from hip-hop to trap to future, saying that he simply just loves “good music”. Whilst some of his choices fall under the dance music category, including Flume and Loud Luxury, one track that took us particularly by surprise was Two Feets’ “Go F*** Yourself“. At least from listening to the list of songs, we can see where Garrix might get his inspiration from.
