Holographic band Gorillaz have released a remix package featuring mixes of four songs from their upcoming album Humanz, the first album in years from their mid-00s pop radio peak. Gorillaz is the brainchild of Blur’s Damon Alburn and built a following that has endured the test of time, with their animated look in contrast to the chill electronics of their music. A teaser of this much-anticipated album, the remixes cater to fans of many different genres of electronic dance music yet retains the lovable quirkiness that make Gorillaz an alternative music lovers dream.

Bonobo remixed “Andromeda” to beautiful effect, drawing dream pop landscapes over an electronica canvas. He recently released his album Migration and the piece sounds like it came from it. Damon Alburn essentially collaborated with himself on the also-astrologically titled “Saturnz Barz” by pairing Gorillaz with his new side-project Popcaan. The remix is oriented toward dub and features heavy bass, courtesy of Banx & Ranx.

Gorillaz teamed up with Jehnny Beth for “We Got the Power” and let Claptone take the helm for this remix. Claptone utilizes a funky house music sound for his mix, and has a strong signature sound to it, reminiscent of his own material. Nick Fanciulli remixed “Ascension” that blends tech house and has some frenetic breaks; high energy and ready of the clubs.
