In recent years dance trio, Major Lazer have been at the forefront of bringing modern electronic music into the mainstream market, and now they are using their high profile status to kick-start a brand new collaboration with Danish lager giants TUBORG.

Major Lazer, consisting of DJ’s and record producers: Diplo, Jillionaire and Walshy Fire have teamed up with Tuborg to start up a new musical campaign ‘TUBORG OPEN’. This has the world-renowned performers teaming up with 3 different artists across the globe. They will be combining their individual music styles with Major Lazer’s unique mixture of trap, moombahton and reggae. This gives the opportunity for the chosen musicians to showcase hidden talents and reflect personal and native sounds.

The first musician chosen is Scriptonite,  one of the hottest talents coming out of Russia in the Hip-Hop genre. With the native Kazakh being chosen as the first of 3 collaborations with Major Lazer, the other 2 are set to be released to the public sometime in May.

Music and entertainment magazine Billboard recently caught up for a exclusive interview with Major Lazer at their studio in LA, discussing subjects like upcoming collaborations, future explorations and how the ‘TURBORG OPEN’ process works saying:

“They made a beat, then gave the beat to the artists and then linking up with the artists and vibing with them and seeing what they think we should be adding and/or changing to the beat, and that’s the overall process. We have more unreleased music than ever before, Major Lazer has always been a summer act; we’ve always had our streaks during the festival seasons. We’re a little late this year, but we’re going to start putting out records next month (May)” he then wrapped up the interview by confirming “We have about four songs coming out before the summer is over”

With all the build up over the future of Major Lazer, the upcoming months will provide the perfect opportunity to once again dominate tracks in the festival scene and charts.
