Fresh off his powerful Ultra Music Festival performance, Martin Garrix and Dua Lipa teamed with a full orchestra to release a moving take on their ‘Scared to be Lonely’ collaboration. After a strong performance on ‘The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon‘ with similar circumstances and sound, it is only fair to their fans that they release a version of the track that shows off the true artistic version of the song.
2017 was truly a banner year for the 20-year-old, Martin Garrix has only continued to grow and develop as a musician. Curating his own music label, STMPD RCRDS, the Dutchman has shown off his producing chops with his latest track ‘Byte,‘ a familiar high-octane, mainstage record.
This acoustic version of ‘Scared to be Lonely’ shows off Martin Garrix and Dua Lipa’s impeccable musicianship, as opposed to the mainstage records we can usually expect from him. Featuring a soothing piano opening, Lipa slowly takes over with her smooth voice, allowing more pieces of the orchestra to be introduced, including Garrix’s guitar, just like his ‘Tonight Show’ appearance. Stripping the original of its snares and beat allows the pairing of vocals and soft strings of the orchestra to shine through and create a moving masterpiece.
