NGHTMRE and Dillon Francis preview a new ID at Ultra 2017

At last week’s Ultra Music Festival in sunny Miami Florida, NGHTMRE debuted a new track with Dillon Francis, a currently-untitled follow up to their 2016 collaboration “Need You.” The pending release is a synthesis of Francis’ catchy quirkiness and NGHTMRE’s darker, trap-heavy sound—frenetic, insistent synths rollick over a bounding bassline, leading up to a satisfyingly heavy drop. The collab is mainstage-ready, but also would fit in perfectly on an urban club set. It is not known who is the male vocalist at the beginning of the snippet; clocking in at a mere 59 seconds, the ID is just a teaser of what’s to come upon release.

Ultra 2017 had personal significance for the young NGHTMRE, real name Tyler Marenyi. He commented on Twitter how only three years ago he attended as a fan, and now he played on the festival’s Echostage. He and Dillon Francis are both signed to Diplo’s Mad Decent record label, making collaborations between the two an easy process to negotiate. Teaming up again relies on proven success the two have: their previous single “Need You” was a success in the US, reaching 21 on Billboard’s dance chart. A release date and title has not been announced yet for this ID.
