Quilla – You Got It

If there is one voice that the present generation of Dance music lovers would recognize in a heartbeat, it would be that of Canadian singer/songwriter Quilla, who was the vocal guide behind two of the biggest releases of recent times; to wit: as part of ‘Walls‘ in 2012 along with Sultan + Ned Shepard and a feature on Tiesto’s 2014 album ‘A Town Called Paradise‘. When she is not studying endangered languages in her capacity as a linguist and an anthropologist, Anna Luisa Daigneault or Quilla is giving life to words in ones that we do understand. After having been recognized as a true talent behind the microphone, dishing out dreamy and ethereal lyrics in a serenading voice, Quilla took a turn beyond her vocalist image towards becoming producer herself in 2016.

Influenced partly by the House music scene that celebrated her voice as well as her fondness for down-tempo pop and folk, she combined her skills as a performer, live vocalist and producer to offer a completely spellbinding experience on stage – one that caught the attention of Seth Troxler at her vocal looper performance at Burning Man in 2010. Off it, after releasing tracks on Troxler’s label Visionquest, Quilla is now set to release her second album ‘You Got It’ on her own Ritual Fire Records. Up for feature here, it is the title track ‘You Got It’ from the much awaited album.

Kicking off with eerie drum-work, the listener is met with her spellbinding and ethereal voice – one that soothes the senses like silk would. Exciting more emotions in the listener, Quilla carries off the track well with her pitch perfect adeptness behind both, the microphone as well as the production desk. Enticing and haunting at once, the track’s multi-faceted structuring entwined with Quilla’s unfathomable voice elating her poetic songwriting are the pillars on which the title-track from the album stands tall – with its head and shoulders well above any other solo-work across the scene in terms of overall quality.

The album will be available for purchase on April 14th through Ritual Fire Records. For Pre-ordering through iTunes, go here.
