Major Lazer have extended their stretch of hit singles by releasing an official music video for their January release “Run Up” with 10-time Grammy-Award nominee rapper/singer Nicki Minaj and Canadian rapper/songwriter PARTYNEXTDOOR. Since its upload on April 12, the video has already racked up an impressive 991,000 views, which is a testament to the trio’s endless hard work and success.

The video shows Major Lazer and PND throwing a house party, accentuating the young crowd’s infatuation with their phones. A pervasive element throughout the video, the video accurately depicts today’s youth. Nicki Minaj then proceeds to make her appearance via Facetime.

The single is said to be on Major Lazer’s new upcoming album “Music is the Weapon“, along with tracks such as “Believer” with Showtek, and “Cold Water“, with Grammy-Award winning singer Justin Bieber, and MØ, which went #1 on over 20 different charts worldwide, and posted at least a platinum certification in 11 different countries.

Music is the Weapon” is set to be released this summer, and is a follow-up of the trio’s previous album, “Peace is the Mission“, which was hugely successful. It featured crowd favourites such as “Too Original“, Roll the Bass“, and “Lean On” which was undoubtedly the most successful song on the album.

Posting at least a platinum certification in 11 different countries, and taking out the #1 spot on 26 different charts around the world, the single helped propel “Peace is the Mission” to a gold certification in Denmark and the U.S, and platinum status in France.
