DJ Snake & Major Lazer’s “Lean On” Joins 2 Billion Views Club

One of the most iconic songs in EDM history just reached a milestone that only seven other songs have ever done. Over the weekend, DJ Snake & Major Lazer‘s international smash hit “Lean On” amassed over two billion views on YouTube in just over two years. The next closest EDM songs are Calvin Harris & Rihanna’s “This Is What You Came For” and The Chainsmokers‘ “Closer,” which are both about 500 million views shy of two billion. The noted songs that are above “Lean On” include hits such as “Gangnam Style,” “Sorry“, and Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off” to name a few.

Unless you have lived under a rock since 2015, you know that “Lean On” has absolutely dominated the airwaves in every facet. You have heard the track during countless festival sets and on every radio station and the song is probably one of the most remixed tracks in music history. The infectious vocals and bouncy beats make it one of those songs that deem it an instant classic that can get any party going. The song went #1 on a multitude of music charts and can easily be put in the conversation as one of the most successful EDM songs to ever grace our ears. Since then, DJ Snake & Major Lazer have been on an undeniable roll as they both have put out countless chart-toppers including “Let Me Love You,” “Cold Water“, and “Light It Up.” While these tracks have been successful in their own right, it may take an extremely long time for them to even reach that billion view milestone, which depicts the magnitude that “Lean On” really had.
