As far as superstars go, Martijn Gerard Garritsen, known professionally as Martin Garrix, has solidified his status among the elite as one of the most talented DJ’s on the scene today. Martin is a true inspiration to electronic music because of his illustrious success at such a young age. The Dutch DJ and producer who shot to fame with his phenomenal track ‘Animals‘ has since seen his career head only onwards and upwards.

Today marks a day of celebration for the talented musician as Martin celebrates his 21st birthday and there is no better way to celebrate with the maestro then reliving his BBC R1 Essential Mix. Recorded on 6th September 2014, The Radio 1 essential mix still echoes it’s magnificence to date. The 2-hour long concoction is filled with thunderous tracks, big-room drops and some of the finest mashups.

Martin’s essential mix is a must listen as the DJ infuses a 35+ strong track-list featuring tracks such as Virus, BFAM, Set Me Free and Gold Skies which Martin produced with Sander Van Doorn and Canadian electronic duo DVBBS. C.U.B.A by Calvin Harris makes the bill alongside the iconic progressive house track Walking With Elephants from Ten Walls. 

It will be another incredible summer for the young sensation who topped the DJ Mag Top 100 DJ list in 2016. With lots to look forward to, Martin recently announced the production of new music in the pipeline for fans and has a much-anticipated residency at Hï Ibiza this summer season.
