Armin van Buuren & Tiësto’s collaboration under ‘Alibi’ alias “Eternity” turns 17 years old
In any given conversation regarding Trance, two names instantly spring to mind; Tiësto and Armin Van Buuren; both of whom have done so much to shape the genre as it is in its current form. Despite Tiësto’s heavily criticised decision to transition into commercial EDM, his significant contributions to Trance music will be forever remembered. Meanwhile, Armin’s “King Of Trance” title stands firm, constantly evolving and pushing the genre to new horizons.
However, irrespective of the two Dutchmen’s current day accomplishments, when the two kings of dance music collided forces, it proved to be a gargantuan collaboration which today, turns 17 years old. Of course, this was the Alibi project conjured up between the duo for the sole purpose of ‘Eternity’.
A beautiful Trance anthem still to this day, the track is driven by pounding dance-floor percussion progressing into a beautiful array of dreamy, melodic sounds, ‘Eternity’ proved to be a quintessential Trance song, still living on in the memories of faithful Trance fans across the globe. Infectious uplifting chord progressions and reverb-soaked synths still to this day leave fans in awe, cherishing what is one of the greatest Trance anthems of all time.
