Deadmau5 showcases his TESTPILOT moniker for latest BBC Radio 1 mix

Although the night was set at Movement Festival, Detroit for Deadmau5 to deliver a show under his much awaited testpilot moniker, the show faced technical glitches due to bad weather and for some that was the end of the moment. But after promising to deliver the re-recorded set as part of the 6th episode of his BBC Radio 1 residency, Joel was back in the mix to re-deliver the moniker’s debut outing that had been halted. Thwarted by a somewhat awkward night, testpilot’s set, in hindsight, was rightly touted to be one of the biggest performances of the weekend.

Deadmau5′ testpilot alter-ego kicked off the first hour of the 90-minute set with a charming Rrose remix of CTRLS’ ‘Charge’. Following suit was music from Raxon, ARTBALL, DJ DEEP & Roman Poncet, Julian Jeweil, Yan Cook, Shlomi Aber, Maceo Plex, Pig&Dan, Tony Rohr & Layton Giordani, Stefano Noferini & Bulaklak, Layton Giordani, CTRLS, Phil Kieran & Jochem Paap and a track which is said to be in the making by the host himself. The last 30-minutes is where Joel returns to close the set with 4 tracks featuring music from REZZ, Kill The Noise & Feed Me, Lane 8 and a remix from the production desk of Undercatt. All in all, it was the mix as we were promised – a pitch perfect rendition of the night at Movement Electronic Music Festival, Detroit.
