Returning to Washington, D.C.’s Echostage, Galantis played to a ruckus, sold out crowd on Friday night. With The Him providing an energetic opening set, Friday night will be remembered.
With the crowd filling in as the night wore on, The Him provided an impressive set that kept the masses moving. Mixing in some of the most popular tracks in electronic music today, artists like Tchami, Zedd, GTA, and Zeds Dead were featured during their powerful 90+ minute opening set. They set the tone for what was to come and did not disappoint.
After a lull to unveil their full percussion production, Galantis was next on the decks. The Swedish duo quickly took the packed club to the next level, opening with their impeccable “Louder, Harder, Better,” synced with amazing visuals. Their set was a journey through some of their most iconic tracks and hard-hitting beats. The combination of environment, lighting, and music demonstrated why Galantis is one of the most popular acts in the electronic music industry.
Standing out above the rest, tracks like “You,” “Firebird,” and “Gold Dust” had every person at the show singing aloud at the top of their lungs. Mixing in records like Brohug’s “Falling” remix, NGHTMRE’s “Goosebumps” remix, and Kungs’ “This Girl” made sure that the set carries a new flavor than their previous. As the set neared its end, the crowd’s anticipation for “Runaway” continued to build and they were rewarded with a powerful encore of the duo’s most popular track, putting an emphatic ending to a wild night.
