Icona Pop – Girls Girls

Back with a bang, Swedish duo Icona Pop return with new single, ‘Girls Girls‘ – a vibrant EDM number with the big, stomping neon pop they are best known for. Famed for their summer 2012 anthem ‘I Love It, Icona Pop, aka. Caroline Hjelt and Aino Jawo have been in the habit of dropping a standalone single every few months. Last year, they shared 3 tracks: ‘Someone Who Can Dance’, ‘Brightside’, and ‘Weekend’. But ‘Girls Girls’, their 1st new song of 2017, looks set to outperform all previous singles.

With verses utilising  a child’s toy instrument and rich dance floor hooks, the new release contains a real retro EDM feel, albeit with a deep/tropical house edge to it this time out. A production that personifies summer, ‘Girls Girls’ contains a real feel-good vibe to it, and you can be sure the track will be heard in numerous car journeys through the glorious sunny weather, with windows open and vocals blaring out.

Clocking in at just under 2 minutes and 50 seconds, the song ends in such an abrupt way that you’ll want to put it straight back on, and with a colourful and vibrant video, you can now check out this release below and let us know your thoughts in the comments section!
