Martin Garrix‘s ‘Animals‘ turns 4 years old today. The iconic festival anthem which shot Garrix into stardom, stands as one of the most prominent Big Room tracks to date; arguably, the pinnacle of modern EDM. The quintessential Big Room track is still making strides after recently hitting the 1 billion view landmark on YouTube.

Despite rising to the top so quickly, Martin’s success did not happen overnight. In an interview with Wessel van Diepen, Martin tells that he produced a large number of tracks prior to Animals. He went on to explain that he ghost produced a track for a close friend, which eventually was signed by Spinnin’ Records. Upon discovering that Martin was only 15 years old at the time, he was invited to Spinnin’ HQ by the label’s management to present his other works. The rest is history.

After being signed to Spinnin’ Records, Martin released a plethora of hugely successful tracks such as Error 404, WizardTremorHelicopter and his remix of Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike and Sander van Doorn‘s Project T. He collaborated with numerous prominent artists such as Jay HardawayDillon Francis, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Afrojack and many more.
