The annual DJ Mag Top 100 DJs poll opens today. The popular magazine gained great support this year after DJ Mag opted to partner with humanitarian organisation UNICEF, with the intent of raising support and money to help better the lives of those less fortunate. Despite the annual poll’s heavy criticism, the collaboration between the two parties urges fans to remember the bigger picture and epitomises the “PLUR” phrase commonly used amongst EDM fans.

Earlier this year, DJ Mag released the results for their yearly Top 100 Clubs poll, with Space Ibiza taking out the no.1 spot, despite it ceasing to exist. The iconic Ibiza hotspot was replaced with Hï Ibiza this summer and has attained spectacular resident DJ’s such as Martin Garrix, Armin Van Buuren, Eric Prydz, deadmau5 and many more! Kalypso Nightclub, in the European hotspot that is Croatia, took home the highest new entry award, at #39.

However, the awards aren’t all fun and glamour. The poll has come under heavy criticism, being labelled as a “popularity contest” after Tomorrowland residents Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike were condemned by fans and fellow DJs alike, for their voting scandal in 2015, earning them the ‘The iPad Brothers” nickname. Despite this, Martin Garrix went on steal the crown a year later and become the youngest recipient of the #1 DJ award.

Voting has already commenced and can be partaken here.
