Madeon gives insight into his Porter Robinson collab as it reaches 100,000,000 streams
What will undoubtedly be a collaboration that will go down in dance music history, Porter Robinson & Madeon’s ‘Shelter‘ saw two of the most talented producers the industry has ever seen team up to bring us a spine-tingling musical masterclass. And to add the icing on the cake, an official North America tour to go alongside this. This week, the track reached a milestone that not many artists have achieved, as ‘Shelter‘ surpassed an incredible 100 million streams.
Madeon took to Twitter to share the good news with fans, before later going into details about who was primarily involved in the track’s success. Nowadays artists can become overwhelmed with the number of third party inputs who suggest ideas and changes to a track, with labels, songwriters, and other producers often having some say.
Also realized Shelter passed 100.000.000 streams. The craziest thing about it to me is that we made it all on our own.

There wasn't an army of writers and label people. We just sat down and made a song we cared about. And it was listened to 100m times. Dope.

I'm so impressed and grateful for everybody that believed in it and got involved after the song was done (video, tour, marketing etc).

One thing that is for sure is that the atmosphere and emotion created in the track could only have been produced by the unique skills of two of these dance music icons.
