Major Lazer & DJ Snake’s “Lean On” becomes the 4th song ever to hit 1 Billion Spotify streams

Major Lazer and DJ Snake continue to bring in accolades for their collaboration with MØ, “Lean On”. After their mega-hit climbed the charts all over the world, it is the fourth song in history to reach one billion streams on Spotify, cementing itself alongside Drake, The Chainsmokers, and Ed Sheeran.

“Lean On” featured on Major Lazer’s third studio album Peace is the Mission, released in 2015 with other tracks like “Be Together” and “Light It Up.” Each artist has skyrocketed into popularity since, with Major Lazer and DJ Snake each closing the Ultra Music Festival main stage earlier this year, and MØ releasing her first studio album later on in 2015. The incredible success of “Lean On” illustrates the expansion of electronic music into mainstream pop music. The trio of artists secured on of the biggest hits of this decade.
