Since their very first event in 2013, ANTS has become a worldwide phenomenon, invading venues across the world, providing the darkest, most sensational parties, relentlessly drawing in huge crowds. This Summer, ANTS return to Ibiza for their fifth consecutive year, where their residency sees them take over legendary venue Ushuaïa every Saturday, the ideal setting for their underground house and techno parties which have proven extremely popular on the island.

Although ANTS originated in Ibiza, they have delivered spellbinding showcases worldwide in some of the world’s most highly regarded venues. Their Winter tour saw them invade Dubai, Hong Kong, Spain, Switzerland, and the UK, where their monumental takeover at the Warehouse Project in Manchester was simply unforgettable. With audiences across the world desperate to experience ANTS themselves, there is no doubt that the concept is here to stay, and will continue to host breathtaking parties for years to come.

ANTS remains Ushuaïa’s most popular day party in their schedule, and with the impeccable selection of artists alongside the spectacular decor, this certainly comes as no surprise. On Saturday 12th August, we were lucky enough to experience the legendary sold out event ourselves, and we witnessed first hand the ferocity of the ANTS at work.

Upon arrival, the sheer attention to detail at the venue becomes apparent, with ant figures covering the iconic club, drawing your eyes around the walls of the neighboring hotel rooms. The poolside area swarms with attendees decked out in merchandise, proving just how much influence the brand has in Ibiza. Packed from the onset, the sold out event commands an intense atmosphere, from the middle of the afternoon, right until the climactic finale before midnight.

As the the legendary venue begins to fill up, the crowd are treated to an unbelievable display of pyrotechnics, as lasers and fireworks provoke gasps of delight from the poolside revelers. As the sun sets, Ushuaïa really comes into it’s own, becoming a dark, intense, setting as techno thumps through the floor. A sinister atmosphere envelops the crowd, as the pulsating beat hypnotizes the colony, who react to every twist and turn during the live performances.

With legendary artists such as Nic Fanciulli, Lauren Lane, Francisco Allendes, and Andrea Oliva all providing unique, exhilarating performances across the evening, the crowd are treated to a night of the purest house and techno, from open right until close. The jaw-dropping pyrotechnics add another level to the performances, with Ushuaïa showing off their truly phenomenal setup.

Andrea Oliva, who has provided impeccable performances at almost every single weekly ANTS showcase throughout the season, takes the event into its final stages with what can only be described as an awe-inspiring set. Taking the audience in the palm of his hand, the Swiss DJ and producer effortlessly glides from track to track, manipulating the crowd with thumping techno. A monumental wave of approval erupts through the crowd as the spellbinding melody of Opus echoes through the packed venue, with the emotion of attendees apparent on their faces.

As the night draws to a close, Lane 8‘s melodic ‘March of the Forest Cat‘ rings out through the incredible venue, providing a captivating finale to the event, encompassing an abundance of emotion into the final moments. From start to finish, ANTS provided an unbelievable showcase of talent, and with their attention to detail alongside the stacked lineup, there can be no doubts that their weekly residency is a must-see for any Ibiza visitor.

Tickets can still be purchased to next week’s ANTS event at Ushuaïa here.
