Avicii took to social media today to reveal his new EP will be released on Thursday, August 10 and will simply be entitled Avīci.

Avīci will be released on a staggered-timetable that day, commencing with with 7:00 am in Los Angeles and culminating with 1:00 am in Sydney, Australia. Major music markets worldwide are included between these two times on the release schedule.

In the emotional video, Avicii positions this new EP as the next step in his already-legendary career by juxtaposing the media and fan’s reactions to his retirement from touring with his preferred role as a producer.

Lead single ‘Without You‘–which resonated with fans on an emotional level since its inclusion on the Won’t Be Right Back farewell tour–is included in the teaser video. In the caption, the Swedish progressive house producer expresses his excitement about the project: “I can’t wait to share it with you.”

Previously leaked information from his new record label and management, Universal Music Sweden, had indicated the EP would be entitled Lord. However, it is now possible that will be the title of the second follow-up EP, as Tim Bergling decided to eschew the traditional album format.

The tracklist features a bevy of talented collaborators. ‘Friend of Mine‘ leads with Vargas & Lagola, ‘Lonely Together‘ features pop star Rita Ora, ‘You Be Love‘ has Billy Raffoul, ‘Without You‘ with Sandro Cavazza, ‘What I Would Change it To‘ has AlunaGeorge, and ‘So Much Better‘ is Avicii’s own remix.
