In just over a month the very first Electronic Music Awards is set to take place with an award show more relevant to the music we listen to. Coming live from Los Angeles on September 21, the EMAs will present a new music awards show where fans can witness 30 years of music history over one night. Produced by trance legend and English record producer Paul Oakenfold the ceremony will be streamed around the world exclusively across social media platform Twitter.

The Electronic Music Awards features eleven categories with each channeling five or more nominations. Categories range from ‘Album Of The Year’ to ‘Festival Of The Year’, so there are some coveted awards up for grabs.

One of the highlights across the 2017 nominees include a wondrous contest between Pete Tongs – ‘The Essential Selection’, Diplo – ‘Diplo & Friends’, Danny Howard’s – BBC Radio 1 Dance Anthems, Annie Mac – ‘Annie Mac Presents’, Liquid Todd – Beta BPM’, Above & Beyond – ‘Group Therapy’, Nicole Moudaber – ‘In The Mood’, Pasquale Rotella – ‘Nightowl Radio’, and Claude VonStroke’s – ‘The Birdhouse’ to take the award for ‘Radio Show Of The Year’.

The EMAs include a category for ‘Club Of The Year’ were both Las Vegas and London recieve two nominations a piece. London’s XOYO and the Iconic Fabric make the shortlist while Las Vegas club OMNIA and XS both take a nomination. Other nominees in the category include Output from New York, Barcelona’s confetti Kingdom ElrowBerghain / Panorama Bar in Berlin and the White Islands DC-10 in Ibiza.

Finally, what looks to be one of the main categories, five DJs go head to head looking to trump the competition and come out on top with the prestigious ‘DJ Of The Year’ award. The nominees include A-Trak, Eric Prydz, Diplo, The Black Madonna, and Claude VonStroke. This will be one award to keep your eyes on.
