Marshmello identity revealed by Forbes

“Who is Marshmello?” is a question we can finally answer, thanks to a detail caught by Forbes: and the answer is none other than Dotcom.

The business publication discovered song royalties for the single ‘Silence‘ attributed to one name, Chris Comstock, who goes by Dotcom as his unmasked alias. Marshmello is not mentioned on the listing whatsoever, nor is Khalid whose vocals are on the track.

Previously Skrillex had referred to the masked sensation by his first name Chris in an interview and fans were quick to spot Dotcom and Marshmello have the same tattoo.

The bucket-head DJ teased fans with a mock big reveal when Tiësto removed the helmet at EDC Las Vegas 2016. Unlike fellow masked electronic artist Deadmau5, Marshmello has based his career on anonymity and enigma.

He is one of EDM’s biggest acts, ubiquitous and with music that is generally as diffuse as his omnipresence. His appeal rests in the image of the smiling mask with its self-directed humor.
