Premiere: Spinnin’ Sessions 223 – Sam Feldt

Spinnin’ Sessions returns with yet another spectacular episode, giving us a taste of some of the best up and coming tracks, as well as massive hits already released. This week Spinnin’ Records have invited legendary house DJ and producer Sam Feldt to provide a guest mix, ahead of the release of his brand new album, ‘Sunrise’, which is out later this year.

Starting off episode 223 with a bang, Spinnin’ drop deep, sultry anthem ‘My Life‘ by Just Kiddin and Dirty Radio, which is due to be released tomorrow on Spinnin’ Deep. The energy rises a level as Garmiani‘s ‘Fogo‘ is dropped into the mix, providing a thumping beat and intoxicating rhythm, before ‘BLOW UP IN YA FACE‘ by Quintino & Cesqeaux gives the mix a monstrous twist, with a drop of truly epic proportions. As the mix heads back towards house influences, listeners are treated to Mike Williams and Brooks‘ upcoming release ‘Jetlag‘, an effortless upbeat anthem which will no doubt prove popular worldwide. Up next, Spinnin’s Talentpool track of the week ‘Throw Yo Body‘, a dark and enigmatic production, originates from upcoming superstar TRST, who no doubt has a bright future ahead, showing true prowess in production.

During the second half of Spinnin’ Sessions, listeners are treated to an impeccable guest mix from Dutch superstar Sam Feldt, who begins his mix with his upcoming single ‘YES‘ featuring Akon, a heavenly house anthem. From the beginning and throughout, the mix oozes summer vibes, providing the ultimate poolside tracks, including Boehm‘s ‘Outside Of The Lines‘ and ATTLAS‘ ‘What You Do To Me‘. Sam Feldt gives the mix a tropical twist, dropping Calvo‘s remix of his collaboration with Lush & Simon, ‘Fade Away‘. Throughout the mix, he maintains an astounding level of energy, captivating his audience as he effortlessly showcases his chosen tracks.

We caught up with Sam Feldt to discuss his upcoming album ‘Sunrise’ as well as his brand new single with Akon, ‘YES’.

What have you been up to lately?

“It’s quite a special year for me, as I’ll be releasing my debut album ‘Sunrise’ in October. This has been a lifelong wish and ambition for me, so it feels VERY special to finally complete it. All the album’s tracks are finished, I’m currently lining things up with Spinnin’ Records for the official release. The first single ‘YES’ comes out today (Thursday 17 August), and features none other than Akon! A real honor to be working with him, and I believe the record we’ve made perfectly represents the upcoming album.”

What did you have in mind for this Guest Mix?

“For this mix, I tried to grab the diversity you can also hear on my upcoming album. I like the groove, but also love to work up great chords and hooks, combined with strong vocal parts. So that’s what you hear in this mix, my trademark sound including some new, upcoming records – of course ‘YES’ is also in there. Hope you like it, enjoy!”
