Eric Prydz & Deadmau5 team up for epic set at Electric Zoo

Home Uncategorized Eric Prydz & Deadmau5 team up for epic set at Electric Zoo

It might be argued, music fills the all important gap between science and magic. In fact, that may be true of art in general. On the one hand, you have rules by which the human mind interacts with music, set rules by which the body spontaneously seems to move. On the other hand, creating a piece of music that resonates with the listener on both conscious and unconscious levels might indeed have been considered magic at a stage in history. That being said, a good dose of Deadmau5 mixed with an equal amount of  Eric Prydz, placed in a melting pot of rolling techno and served ‘Al fresco’ to a few thousand people, undoubtedly proves an unbeatable formula.

Playing host to the much anticipated back to back set, Electric Zoo saw two of dance music’s biggest names take the stage for a performance not soon to be forgotten. The annual festival held in New York City had long been drawing massive crowds, with last year’s event hosting a jaw dropping 80,000 plus attendees. This year’s top performers included the likes of DJ Snake, Don Diablo, Above & Beyond, Oliver Heldens, Armin van Buuren and of course Eric Prydz & Deadmau5. While both DJ’s have gained an impressive audience respectively, attendees on Randall’s Island were eagerly expecting the pair, following b2b sets which included Prydz’s highly publicized residency at Hï Ibiza.

The crowd, who clearly responded with more enthusiasm, as every anticipated build up dropped into a bassline driven climax, got more than their money’s worth. The set ended with an overwhelming applause from an extremely appreciative audience, begging the question, would these back to back sets become a regular occurrence? One fan, in particular, came home with a priceless memory, thanks to his go pro and quite a steady arm.
