A solid contender among the new wave of electronic acts to come out of Sweden, Galantis took on every possible chart with the release of Runaway (U & I)a crossover hit, further showing the dominance of dance music’s commercial breakthrough. Followed up by further success with tracks like ‘Peanut Butter Jelly’ and ‘No Money’, the duo consisting of Christian Karlsson and Linus Eklöw, has become known for funky fresh beats, uplifting melodies, and catchy vocals. While the duo had reached moderate levels of success, with their respective involvement in acts such as ‘Bloodshy & Avan’, ‘Miike Snow’ and ‘Style of Eye’, ‘Galantis’ has certainly served as the duo’s most popular form.

Further building on an already impressive résumé, the sons of Stockholm have called in American newcomer Rozes, who takes a second dip into the electronic music pool, following a recent collaboration with New Jersey based group ‘Cash Cash’, entitled ‘Matches’. Making the most of the opportunity, Galantis have kept the elements that give them their unique sound, while slightly shifting styles, with a down tempo future pop track entitled ‘Girls on Boys‘.

The duo describes how the inspiration behind the song’s lyrics come from the various highs and lows that make the relationship between art, love, and life such a potent and empowering combination. While the track certainly makes you want to move, it seems the lyrics are of a slightly more serious nature. Speaking about the brand new track Rozes says:

“The upbeat vibe of the song masks the darker lyrics, which reveal that the money, diamonds, and champagne won’t fix the feeling of missing the person you love and feeling alone.”

‘Girls and Boys’ will be available on Galantis’ forthcoming second album entitled The Aviary’, which is scheduled for release on September 15th, but you can listen to the single below.
