Damon Albarn from the coveted virtual band Gorillaz has strongly hinted at a brand new album and that it’s already in the works. Their fourth album, ‘The Fall‘ was released out of the blue, with just 5 days of notice, and speaking to Q Magazine, Albarn has indicated that he wishes to do the same with the next release.
“I really like the idea of making new music and playing it live almost simultaneously. It will be a more complete record than ‘The Fall’, but hopefully have that spontaneity.”
In the meantime, the band are currently busy with their Humanz world tour, but improving upon the show experience is still a priority.
“We’ve been discussing ideas for a new kind of live show,” Damon added. “If we’re going to do more with Gorillaz we don’t want to wait seven years because, y’know, we’re getting on a bit now. We’re excited but we need to get these shows finished first. You never know what’s around the corner.”
Damon also spoke about finally reaching his dream of working with holograms.
“My dream of being able to see holograms of real people onstage is close now. That was the idea at the beginning. We’ve been very patient and we don’t have that long left.”
