London Grammar – Hell to the Liars (Kölsch Remix)

Kölsch has become somewhat of an outlier within the dance music industry, making music that can both appeal to a mainstream audience, and perfectly suit a dark, underground club, and his fanbase more than recognizes that fact. Never a stranger to a challenge, the Danish producer has taken up the opportunity of remixing English pop group London Grammar, putting his own spin on their track ‘Hell to the Liars‘, and his effort has turned into a tremendous flip on the original.

With the remix clocking in at just under 13 minutes, Kölsch manages to masterfully make the minutes fly in with an enthralling and diverse effort. The first aspect of the production that causes impact is the hard-hitting, electro synth lines which act as a staple throughout the track, nicely contrasted by some beautiful strings, as well as Hannah Reid’s immense vocal work which takes centre stage as the track progresses.

Kölsch is known for putting an emotional edge to his tunes, and this release is no different with some excellent chord progressions on display that can really tug on the heart strings of the listener. Over the full length of the tune, the progression of sounds from start to finish is quite impressive, as it manages to grab the listener without really letting go.
