Kygo drops his incredible U2 collaboration “You’re the Best Thing About Me”
From working with Selena Gomez on their hit collaboration “It Ain’t Me” earlier this year to Ellie Goulding on yet another breathtaking single with “First Time,” Norwegian superstar Kygo has had an incredible 2017 thus far. In addition, he released his rags to riches documentary story this summer that gave a behind the scenes look on his journey from his bedroom to the festival main stage. Last summer during his Cloud 9 festival in Norway, Kygo premiered a supposed collaboration with iconic rock band U2 that got the entire world talking. Now, “You’re the Best Thing About Me” has gotten an official release during an already amazing New Music Friday and it is one of Kygo’s best songs yet.
The original version of the song was released last week as a solely rock-inspired song from U2’s upcoming album. The dance music rework version of the single was released today and it is absolutely epic bringing together the best of both genres in a way that only these artists could do. Bono’s powerful vocals combined with a downtempo Kygo instrumental play off each other beautifully and make it a contender for the song of the year. The track features a similar vocal chop melody and beat drop that Kygo has implemented in recent productions such as “It Ain’t Me” that is perfect for both the radio and main stage.
