Oliver Heldens – What The Funk ft. Danny Shah

Since his debut and release of the ever popular ‘Gecko‘ which served as a breakthrough for Oliver Heldens, the Dutch DJ has been a firm favorite with fans of electronic music. As well as producing under his alias HI-LO, young Oliver has an arsenal of tracks in his music catalog ready to unleash during performances. Now fresh off the heels from his crazy Ibiza residency at Hï Ibiza, Oliver is back with a massive track destined for chart-topping success.

Heldens’ new track ‘What The Funk’ sees the DJ explore new musical territory as the track gets to grips with a combination of the 70’s and 90’s. Teaming up with Glasgow’s Danny Shah, the pair have produced this instantly infectious beat that blends disco, pop, and house. Soulful vocals and delightful flutes turn this energetic body-popper into a sassy rhythm shaker. A high-energy tempo completed with layers of disco guitars and sweet synths serves up a fist-pumping feel-good anthem.

‘What The Funk’ made its premiere in the mobile game BeatFever, continuing the strong relationship between the video game world and the Dutchman. A video for the track is soon to follow which will feature submissions of user-generated content from Heldens fans sent in over social media. Undoubtedly Oliver Heldens’ biggest summer to date, the DJ heads into the winter months continuing his success as he prepares for his upcoming ADE party at Paradiso.
