For an artist who has remained as a mainstay in the minds of a generation of dance music listeners world over, the news of the release of Avicii’s ‘True Stories‘ movie spread like fire across the industry news outlets. And ever since the word has been out on it, there has been a palpable amount of anticipation in the wait for its release on the big screen.  Directed by a long-time friend and fellow Swede Levan Tsikurishvili, the movie is touted to feature and focus on the rise of Tim from his formative years as a producer into the giant brand and global dance music icon that he became.

The movie also takes a look at the experiences that Tim has had to face in his life – presenting the high highs and low lows of his life as an artist, first as a talented producer on the rise and then as a worldwide star touring globally. It will also feature a 30 minute clip which is focused on the last set that Avicii had played in Ibiza on 28th August 2016. Explaining the concept of the movie, Tsikurishvili was quoted in DJMag saying:

“I wanted to do a brutally honest film about Tim as a person and not only about Avicii. Everybody knows Avicii but very few people know Tim. I think this documentary really shows Tim’s struggle and strength of character. Being a worldwide superstar artist is not as easy as it looks on Instagram.”

The movie is now set to be screened on Thursday, 26th of October in UK in what is a one-night only show.
