Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike make acting debut in crime drama
Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike are set to make their acting debut in the Belgian film Patser (which, translated in English, means ‘gangsta’). The trailer has been released onto YouTube, and while the big room house duo appear in it for only a moment, the trailer’s description begins by touting their acting debut.
Patser is a flashy exploration of the seven deadly sins, something of a heist and chase film in the vein of Luc Besson’s highly stylized productions. The brainchild of directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, the film sees the Belgian EDM superstars evading capture in Antwerp’s underworld after they steal a cocaine shipment from Colombian druglords.
The movie is described as such:
Antwerp. The lives of four dealer friends, who want to become real life swaggers, spins out of control when they steal a shipment of cocaine. They trigger a full out war between them, an Amsterdam drug lord and the ruthless Colombian cartels.
Patser will be released this upcoming January. The production studio has claimed the duo are receiving rave reviews already and positive word-of-mouth. Directors El Arbi and Fallah explored the cocaine theme earlier in the acclaimed series Snowfall on Amazon Video.
