Former Swedish House Mafia DJ/producer Steve Angello once again dropped two new singles of his forthcoming 3-part album “Almost Human”, that is set for a release date of early next year. After having unveiled the first new tracks (Act I – Genesis) in August, it is now time for Angello to unveil its successor: Act II – “Inferno” EP, which consists of the tracks “Freedom” featuring rap artist Pusha T and “I Know”. Still to come later this year will be Act III – Paradiso, all three acts describing different stages in Steve Angello’s life.

The six tracks of the three acts combined portray an extraordinary type of storytelling. Where Act I was heavily gospel-influenced with powerful, somewhat melancholic melodies, the 34-year-old Greek-Swedish producer really kicks things into gear on Act II. “Freedom” begins with a heavily pulsating heartbeat that soon makes way for an amazing deep and dark bassline, almost unheard of before in Angello’s repertoire. Right before the drop Pusha T’s demonic voice kicks in with the words “America’s ours!”

The dark and dramatic vibe continues on “I Know”, a track that features strings of synths that defined the 1980s, alongside a heavy bass and a continuous kick drum. The tune’s soulful vocal cuts can’t prevent the track from remaining dark and industrial, but in combination with the interesting 80s-inspired synths it’s an outstanding minimalistic piece of art. Both tracks featured on “Inferno EP” will leave fans anxiously awaiting Act III – Paradiso later this year and the complete “Almost Human” album early 2018.
