Not usually a name you would associate with the sub-genre, but Carnage has taken to his official Twitter account to announce his intentions to try his hand at techno music.
When you think of Carnage, you’ll usually envisage trap music, big room sounds and upbeat party vibes. But now the American DJ and rapper has declared his intention to produce a monster techno set before the end of the year. It was a move that was met with much frustration on the social media outlet, with many techno fans warning him to stay away from their beloved genre, and accusing his fans of lacking musical taste.
The move certainly wouldn’t be the first time Carnage has switched genres after he explored Psy-Trance with Timmy Trumpet on a track called ‘Psy Or Die’ which was modelled on artists like Seven Lions. But as of lately, his name has been in the media for all the wrong reasons. Just last week, issues between Carnage and deadmau5 rolled out after the American allegedly pushed deadmau5 and he later recorded himself starting a “F**k deadmau5” chant during his Halloween set at Marquee NY.
What do you make of this switch? Would it be a good career move for Carnage? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
